Job Description

A Senior Content Developer at Local Projects plays a key role in shaping the creative output of projects by participating in ideation with the design team and undertaking all content development tasks. This includes defining strategic focus, organizing content, conducting subject research, developing themes and stories, writing, and articulating the overall visitor experience. They collaborate closely with designers and directors to develop new storytelling experiences and craft storylines and content hierarchies for visitor experiences.

Requirements

• Available 30+ hours a week

• Experience in content development in areas such as US history, Black history, social justice, and social issues; storytelling for digital media

• Six to ten years of relevant experience

• Willingness to travel as required

• Must work on-site in NYC Studio/Hybrid

• Primary residence in NY/Tri-State or Washington DC area

Responsibilities

• Work with internal team, clients, and subject matter experts to develop goals and content frameworks

• Understand project content and articulate core themes and stories

• Develop workshop and interview approaches for gathering relevant content

• Inspire teams with clear content goals for design approaches and visitor engagement

• Research, synthesize, and write at high levels

• Develop storyboards for digital media experiences

• Design and populate content databases

• Manage client communications regarding content deliveries and needs

• Help maintain content workflow for internal team and clients

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent communication skills

• Strategic planning abilities

• Proficiency in presentation, documentation, and databasing software

• Strong writing skills for visitor experiences

• Exceptional research and analytical abilities

• Experience in developing content for digital media

• Interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively and prioritize tasks

• Asset sourcing and liaison experience with cultural institutions, archives, or stock agencies

• Ability to work well in an agile environment
