Job Description

Lakshya, a Keywords Studios company headquartered in Gurgaon, India, is a renowned game art studio with a team of over 700 employees. Established in 2004, Lakshya has developed a strong reputation in the game development industry, having contributed art to over a hundred game titles, including globally successful games like Bloodborne, Dark Souls II, and Uncharted 2.

The Senior Artist plays a crucial role in the art team, taking on complex art creation tasks and extending responsibilities beyond art production. This includes interpreting client specifications, creating queries, providing first-level artistic checks, and troubleshooting. The position also serves as a stepping stone to higher roles such as Art Lead and Specialist, incorporating responsibilities related to work estimation and reviewing peers’ work.

Requirements

Skills:

• Excellent 3D environment creation skills
• High proficiency in industry-standard software (Maya, Max, Photoshop, zBrush)
• Hands-on experience with Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Blender
• Strong knowledge of Game Art pipeline and real-time shaders in Unreal and Unity
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter and team player

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in creating 3D art assets for AAA titles

Role Responsibilities

• Study and interpret client briefs to understand work requirements
• Assist in effort estimation for new work
• Contribute to pre-production tasks, including collecting references and formulating client queries
• Establish clarity in asset creation workflows by creating sample assets
• Create high-quality, error-free 3D assets per client specifications
• Deliver files according to client specifications and best practices
• Undertake creation of benchmark assets for projects
• Provide direction and guidance to team artists and perform first-level checks on their work
• Assist in troubleshooting on the project
• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas
• Communicate work status clearly to the Lead and PM
• Ensure timely completion of work within budgeted efforts
