Job Description
The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for development and configuration within the ServiceNow suite, particularly focusing on QA and ATF capabilities. The developer will work with both technical and business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver solutions aimed at enhancing efficiency and user experience. Utilizing best practices and agile methodologies, the developer is expected to produce high-quality code and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy QA and ATF capabilities on the ServiceNow platform.
- Configure and enhance ServiceNow QA and ATF capabilities using out-of-box functionality.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the performance, functionality, and security of ServiceNow QA and ATF functions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and support staff.
- Stay updated on the latest features of the ServiceNow platform and incorporate them into solutions.
- Document design, development, testing, and deployment processes for ServiceNow applications.
- Advise on out-of-box functionality for desired outcomes instead of customization.
- Create demos and prototypes prior to full deployment.
- Review existing implementations and provide design change recommendations for performance enhancement.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in application systems/administration or 7 years of experience without a degree.
- Proficiency in at least two scripting languages used currently in production.
- Ability to lead, engage, and mentor others to achieve high application systems availability.
- Strong problem-solving skills for mission-critical systems interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
- At least 5 years of experience in developing solutions on the ServiceNow platform with exposure to different modules.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).
- Strong understanding of Quality Assurance (QA) practices.
- Experience with ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, UI Pages, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Team player mindset and willingness to share knowledge.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally, carry objects up to 25 lbs frequently, and perform tasks that may require frequent standing and walking. Close eye work is involved including computer work, typing, reading, and writing.
Environmental Factors
Environmental exposures may include blood-borne pathogens, chemicals, electronic risks, and varying indoor/outdoor conditions. Travel may occasionally be required.

This position can be performed remotely with occasional visits to an Emory University location, following Eastern (EST) time zone hours. There are states and territories where Emory will not approve primary work locations.
