In my final semester at Montclair State University, I had the honor of designing a promotional poster for our senior exhibition along with being a member of the exhibition organization committee. I created four posters in total, with the final being selected by my classmates. My goal with each design was to unite the class by evoking MSU, and our shared experiences as emerging designers.
As part of my senior portfolio, I revisited a project from much earlier in my academic career, in which I designed a set of book covers for three of Italo Calvino’s Cosmicomics. To revamp this project, I created a fictional band called Calvino and designed a vinyl boxset for this band. The boxset includes three records and a liner booklet with synopses of each story. The records are also distributed by a fictional label, Sentiero Records, named for one of Calvino’s earliest works, Il sentiero dei nidi di ragno.
The title of this thesis project is Mosaic: Fragments of Girlhood. Digital and print design components come together to reflect on and critique childhood nostalgia, gender roles, and feminism as they relate to Kurdish-American identities. Using found footage and text from a variety of sources both personal and in the public domain, the designs are united by a unique visual language that is both nostalgic and timeless.

(Motion Design assignment) For our midterm project we were tasked with designing a trailer for a fictional MoMA exhibition at our discretion. I decided to design for an exhibition centered on The Beatles and their use of art and design in their history. I used footage from various music videos and created 2.5D digital collages using album and single artwork. I also put together the medley of Beatles songs that plays throughout the video. Three versions of the video were made in different lengths and aspect ratios.
