Aaron Schondorf is a multimedia composer from New York City, specializing in orchestral and electronic scores with a distinctive cinematic flair that maintain an intimate connection to narrative.
Aaron is one half of the composing duo for the new co-operative first person shooter Mycopunk, the debut game from the indie studio Pigeons at Play and published by Devolver Digital. A mishmash of genres and aesthetics, Aaron’s score provides a solid backbone for the fast-paced, dynamic gameplay. Mycopunk is in early access and has plans for a full release in the coming months.
Aaron recently composed the score for the feature length drama The Faerie Queene by Lenny Lou which had its premiere at the 2024 Brooklyn Film Festival. He also composed an EP for Aryan Bhattacharjee based on by his film Children of the Sea and is currently working on the score to the game Silencer by Diane Wang, an narrative game about propaganda and information control in politics and journalism.
Aaron brings a unique perspective to his music and the projects in which he is involved. He spent his high school years touring with Circus Smirkus as a juggler and acrobat before switching to composing full time. He still remains connected to his circus roots, returning to the company to compose for the 2023-2024 Road Show and the 2025 Big Top Tour. Aaron has collaborated with many companies including writing for Human Music, Elias Audio Branding, 4 Elements Music, and Black Label Music, Fieldston Choral Society (arranger), Carleton College (music director, arranger, and conductor), and VocalEssence.
Aaron graduated NYU with a Masters of Music in Music Theory and Composition through their Screen Scoring program. He is also an alumnus of Carleton College with a BA in Mathematics and Music, for which he was awarded distinction.
