Industry Experience

Media & Entertainment, Professional Services
    paper Gia Construction

Gia Construction is a business run by a young couple. When
they had approached me with the branding of their business,
they had wanted their youth and fresh approach to be reflected
    in their branding.

A three colour corporate colour palette was chosen by them and
I was pretty much given carte blanche on this project. I decided
to give the logo and subsequently, the business collateral a very
modern and clean look. The logo is made up of the initials of the
business name, modified to resemble a three dimensional
drawing of a building. A flat, minimalist look was employed in the
business collateral to give the logo prominence.

    paper Thonya Media House

This is a logo design for Thonya Media House, they operate in
the music field and provide recording facilities to artists. The
brief was to design a modern, colourful logo that referenced
    music in a subtle way.

Using this information I created a logo that on first glance looks
somewhat abstract. In reality, I created a stylised version of a
audio equaliser that allows you to make changes of the various
frequency bands in music. I also used a multi-colour scheme
that starts out from a very dark blue and ends in a rich yellow to
give the logo impact and add some movement. The fonts used
are modern, highly legible and have a custom spacing to further
    increase legibility.

    paper Tiger Cookware

Tiger Cookware is a manufacturing based business whose
products can be found all over Southern Africa.
I was approached to design the packaging that some of their
cookware is transported in. The brief was to create a clean,
modern design that allowed the product photography and logo
to stand out. With this in mind, I kept to a very neutral palette,
employing mostly shades of grey and white. The only place
other that the logo and photography that has a significant pop of
colour is the name of that particular set of pots.
Two sides needed to be designed as the design repeats itself.

    paper Farmhouse Lodge

Farmhouse Lodge is located in the quaint town of Newcastle,
South Africa. It’s located on the outskirts in a farming district.

The owners had approached me to redesign their existing
website, something they had done themselves. They wanted a
classy design, that would last them a long time and would be
easy for them to update on their own. They has also wanted the
photographs of their establishment to take centre stage.

The colour palette employed is grey, black and a light shade of
blue, which gives it a very relaxed classy feel, exactly the way
this establishment feels when you are there.

    paper Model Photoshoot

These photographs were created for a local model to add to her portfolio. She required fashion portrait photography to update her portfolio and it was shot outdoors, using both high powered flash and natural light.

    paper Ajay Lalbeharie Photography

This is a another personal project for my photography business.
In this instance I wanted a more luxurious, upmarket feel for the
business. Keeping that in mind I designed the logo along the
lines of a fashion logo. I used the actual signature that I sign my
    prints as the logo itself.
This particular business was created to offer photographic
services for mainly women. I wanted to create photography that
would uplift women and help them fall in love with themselves.
The colour palette was intentionally kept to black and white with
shades of grey, in order to give it a more upmarket, classy feel.

    paper Fliber

Fliber is a wireless internet service provider that operates in
Newcastle, South Africa. When they had approached me to do
some design work for them, they already had a logo designed
but were not happy with the design of the rest of their business
    collateral.
Through various meetings, it was decided that we should have
a clean, modern and minimalist look with flat colour that
deviated little from their corporate colours.
