Identified a recurring gap in a 200-level course where students repeatedly re-sent PDFs to access central learning content; designed and built OPTOPREP, a pre-clinical study app for University of Ilorin optometry students to solve the issue. Defined core product features informed by observed student behavior: centralized materials, retention-focused mnemonics, high-yield condensed notes, and participation-based quizzes. Created and justified key product trade-offs including asynchronous peer-study challenges versus real-time live sessions, an in-app forum, and a simple self-grading scoring system. Directed AI-assisted development using Google AI Studio/Gemini to translate product and UX decisions into a working prototype, currently inactive for University of Ilorin students.
