paper IN A LAND FAR AWAY

10 years ago I created my own folktale/myth inspired by my travels and stays with indigenous peoples around the world, but primordially those form South America such as the Andean and Mato Grosso tribes.
I am working on the story and creating visuals/illustration for it.

I don’t have much money so I cannot really fork out much for the printing and publishing of it. Moreover I hold some principles dear to me…I will not have it published by Amazon, a company led by Jef Bezos who supports Trump politics.

I have done some proofreading with Chatgpt 5 and since I am in a grind with it. Initially I wanted to keep it a simple story for children like the Little Prince of St-Exupery, but now it is growing into a fully immersed deep stoer that could appeal to children and to adults.

Still not sure about to keep my illustrations in one style or my usual eclectic. Furthermore, I am not a native English speaker, yet I want to be read on a global scale.

    uniE621 SOS AMAZON INDIANS
I designed this T-shirt in 1990 to fund a project with my since defunct organisation called S.O.S Amazon Indians. I created bulletin for Brazilian indigenous peoples on culture and awareness about the struggle they faced politically. In this function I lectured at schools in Flanders about it, I organised press conferences, did crowdfunding (no internet yet then) through charity events. The water project was finally established in 1991 in 2 Xavante villages in Mato Grosso. I got the Salesian mission iN amto Grosso to logistically collaborate and execute the project in the field with their equipment such excavating machines. The cost was 11.000 USD. I have written about the project and pre-execution of it got to talkshows on radio and TV and the written press. We only got 5000 USD and the Salesians lend me another 6000 USD, because of the inflation in 2 years time I arrived with insufficient funds to work in 2 villages. The T-shirt design was sold to a Flemish NGO for indigenous peoples rights. They produced it and printed 1000 copies which I promoted, sold where I could and. I was paid 25.000 Belgian Franks (about 800 euros now) for this design. I recently uploaded the design as a product on Threadless.com of which a certain percentage will be donated to a cause for Indigenous peoples. graphicdesigner illustrator designer branding logo photo projectmanager
