I'm Alasdair, a Scottish filmmaker and cinematographer with a background that started in music and dance before landing in a camera operator's seat. That movement-first training shows up in how I shoot: fluid, considered, built around rhythm rather than just coverage. Over the past several years, I've grown a personal brand on YouTube to share my stories, working for Track Club Music, Irix Lenses, DF Concerts and Arc North, plus a credit as a Shiny List Director. Before going freelance, I spent three years as an in-house videographer for a property educational services brand, working across events, ad campaigns and social media, so I understand not just how to make something look good, but how to make it perform. I now run my own YouTube strategy and video production studio, working with hospitality, tourism and lifestyle brands on everything from single commercial shoots to ongoing content strategy. What sets me apart: I don't just deliver footage. I think in terms of audience growth and strategy, and every shoot is built to work as hard as possible for the channel or campaign it's feeding.

The Flatwarming (Short Film) - Youtube

A comedy-drama short following Eleanor as she settles into her new flat with help from her parents, only for the real test to come later that evening. When she invites close friends Phoebe, Alex and Jodie round to see the place, a bottle of red wine loosens tongues, and their “honest” opinions turn the flatwarming into something far more revealing.
Shot on location in Central Scotland with a lean four-hander cast (Rebecca Tierney, Stephanie Eleanor, Ayse Watson and Alice Glass), the film leans on close, character-driven camerawork and editing rhythm to carry the shift from warm comedy into something sharper as the evening wears on. The film was screened at the Old Toll Bar for the Beautiful Sunday Film Club in September 2025

SXCES Communications x Etive Studios Ltd (Social Content & Promo)

I worked with Etive Studios and SXCES Communications to produce and edit a series of promotional video content for their client, B.Braun, for their exhibition on Renal Care at the 63rd ERA Congress at the SEC Glasgow. This involved editing 7 video assets for the B.Braun Meta and LinkedIn accounts to increase attendance at their exhibition throughout the event days. Using After Effects and branded assets to build out a clear on-brand video campaign.
