Born in 1994, Alessandro Giugni graduated in Law from the University of Milan. Alongside his entrepreneurial activities in the historic family business, founded by his grandfather in the coffee roasting sector, he embarked on an artistic journey that led him to devote himself passionately to photography, exploring every aspect of it for over fifteen years. His work focuses mainly on documentary reportage and portraiture, genres through which he explores the human condition and the transformations of contemporary society. For Giugni, photography is both a personal expression and a means of testimony, capable of capturing the contradictions, lights and shadows of our time. His works have been exhibited in Italy and Europe, in cities such as Milan, Venice, Florence, Pisa and Paris, receiving important awards. These include the Fiorino d'Oro award for photography, with an exhibition of some of his works at the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, and inclusion in the permanent collection of the ARTinGENIO museum in Pisa, following the award of the Pier Paolo Pasolini Prize by Aurelio Amendola. Alongside his documentary research, Giugni has developed an intense portraiture activity, immortalising personalities from the world of fashion and entertainment – from Luca Giannola to Antonio Riva – and creating the official portrait of H.E. Mons. Mario Enrico Delpini, Archbishop of Milan, now on display in the Archbishops' Hall of the Archbishop's Palace. His publications include the volumes Milano al tempo del Coronavirus. Una cattedrale nel deserto and In Silentio et In Spe Erit Fortitudo Vestra. Viaggio nell'esoterismo della Chiesa Cattolica, the latter produced with the patronage of the Archdiocese of Milan, in which the author has documented little-known aspects of monastic ritual with sensitivity and rigour.
