    uniE621 Concept Art - Portfolio Piece 1
The first piece of this project. I used it to help establish the setting. I wanted a more relaxed mood for this first piece, something quiet and empty. Blender was used for staging/blocking. illustrator conceptart
    uniE621 Concept Art - Portfolio Piece 2
For the second piece in this project, I wanted to present the threat or reason for the state of the world. I tried to contrast the sunny weather with the shadowed foreground to create an eerie feeling surrounding the infected. illustrator conceptart
uniE621 Hasel and Gretel Character Design - Key Art
Key art for a Hansel and Gretel character design project. I designed Gretel and the Witch–featured in the piece. characterdesigner illustrator
    uniE621 Concept Art - Portfolio Piece 6
For the last piece, I wanted to do a 180 and create a very warm, cozy, and inviting environment. I wanted it to feel lived in. illustrator conceptart
    uniE621 Concept Art - Portfolio Piece 5
For this piece, I wanted to create a subterranean urban environment, drawing inspiration from settings like the Undercity and the city of Kowloon. I really tried to push the feeling of isolation, emptiness, and unease with this piece. Blender was used for staging/blocking. illustrator conceptart
    uniE621 Concept Art - Portfolio Piece 4
This fourth piece was an experiment with a simpler color palette to communicate a sort of bittersweet tone. illustrator conceptart
    uniE621 Concept Art - Portfolio Piece 3
For the third piece in this project, I wanted to lean into a much darker and more uneasy tone. I set it in a tunnel of a bunker and focused it on two figures–something I would avoid doing for the rest of the project, to focus more on the environment. illustrator conceptart
paper Concept Art - Portfolio Pieces

Six concept art pieces were planned and made–all within the same world/story. A sci-fi post-apocalyptic world with zombie-like threats. The focus of most of the pieces, however, is the setting itself. Tone, mood, and atmosphere were most important. Each piece followed the process of: thumbnail, roughs, value + color studies, lineart, then the final image. A few were also blocked/staged in Blender.
