I was born in Bloemfontein and moved around a lot as a kid due to my dad's work we moved to Durban for 10 years and I got a brother when I was 5 years old, we then moved to Gauteng Pretoria where we have lived for 15 years so far. In 2009 I went to do some graphic design certificates at open window and I fell in love with design from there, before I didn't know really how to express my creativity beyond painting and my piano. I matriculated in 2008 from J.O.Y academy and then took a gap year, and I worked as a sales rep for the year but left the job because it was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and that's when I found inscape design college where I studied graphic design and art history however because I didn't do art in school (because there was no option to) I had to do a foundation year which I felt wasn't a good thing for me and soon found out that it wasn't the right direction for me. I then went back to sales for a year where I worked long hours till 12 at night even though I enjoyed it I knew there was better things for me that's when I applied for open window and the animation school in Cape Town in 2012 I got into both, but I decided that animation is what I wanted to do as I felt that it was the best way to express my creative mind, however life happens and I failed that as well due to windows and Mac not being so compatible at that stage and I had my appendix taken out and while in the hospital and in bed for two weeks I had missed so much and couldn't catch up which was the worst thing I was so disappointed in myself because I gave it my all. I was ready to give up, but then in 2013 May my parents told me I should go to a psychologist who deals with job placement and what you should be doing for the rest of your life to best suit you. So with his guidance I found Rosebank College in 2014 I registered for a Multimedia Diploma that they offer and I completed it in 2016 and graduated in 2017, I loved the course and I was asked in my final year if I would come teach/tutor the third years 3D animation as when I was in my third year I taught my classmates how to do 3D animation. So I came back in 2017 and became a tutor, however before I went there I looked for a job at a studio but South Africa being how it is with the lack of jobs or the fact that everyone wants designers to have 2-5 years of experience in order to get a job which I don't understand how are you supposed to get that experience if everywhere you look just wants people with that already meaning that it would be imposable for you to get that experience. So that is when I went to Rosebank and got the tutoring job I started in May 2017 and worked there helping the first, second and third year students with whatever they needed. That's when I released that I enjoy helping people. Now my contract with them is finished and I am looking for something where I can help people and design.
