As the Sr Color and Print Designer at Guess, I was the leader and overseer of all print apparel artwork for Men’s, Women’s, Guess for Department Stores and Marciano. I created the art as a repeat, placement or engineered artwork, showed the artwork in CLO 3D to my Design Director for approval and then created a tech pack and or pitch sheet of the artwork to send to the vendors and mills through our PLM system. In the tech packs I call out colors, such as Pantones, the scale of the artwork as well as the placement of the artwork. To create the artwork I utilized Photoshop, Illustrator and CLO 3D. I also hand illustrated and or painted the artwork to be placed into repeat or onto an engineered garment. I also conducted trend research and went out to stores for trend shopping for our team’s mood boards. Among many other responsibilities, I reviewed strike offs and SMS to ensure print quality and to guide the mills as to whether digital or screen printing techniques would be best applied.
At Guess it was my responsibility to adhere to the calendar for all 4 divisions and to provide and present print inspiration. I am very self motivated as I was the only Print Designer in the entire company and all prints were my responsibility. I am a collaborative communicator. I worked with 3 different Art Directors and knew each one’s taste and communication style. I know all of the past and current print trends, as I love to see all of the trends from print vendors when we look for purchased artwork. Working for 4 divisions I was very well adjusted to a fast paced and ever changing environment with many changes and setbacks. It’s just part of working in a creative field and I love it.
At one of my previous roles as a Photo Editor/Print Designer at Lunada Bay it was my responsibility to create Print Artwork for Target, Soluna, Isabella Rose and Becca utilizing Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I created repeating and engineered Print Artwork for our in house brands as well as Target.
At Topson Downs I was a Print/CAD Designer creating repeating and engineered artwork for Walmart. I also organized our purchased print library of over 1000 print headers. I also created the line sheets for the artwork and the CADs in Illustrator where I placed the artwork into the CADs/ flat sketches.
Based off of my 10 years experience as a Color and Print Designer I believe that I have the experience you need for the position. Thank you for taking the time to review my materials and I hope for the opportunity to introduce myself in an interview.
Sincerely,
Allie Hope Ramsey
