A musical tour for the album “The Curve” by the Iraqi composer Ameen Mokdad, accompanied by Cuatro Pontus Ensemble and the Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet Ensemble, with dances choreographed by the choreographer Elisa Schroth.
The tour began after five years of work and planning, to end with a new beginning and eleven successful concerts in six cities in the US/CT, with an audience exceeded the three thousand . And after four years from the date of recording, three years from the date the release, Ameen Mokdad and Quatro Pontus released the musical album (The Curve Live from Hartford) as one of the achievements of the tour that started in April 2023 and continues until the end of fall and beyond. …
The music in the album was the outcome of Ameen Miqdad’s life in the city of Mosul between 2014 until 2017 when the city was occupied by the Islamic State, and the music in the current album is an extension of the pieces that were recorded during that period in Mosul inside the house of the Ameen’s family as a protest on the injustice and the darkness brought by these extremist groups.
The first part of the tour ended with a big concert at the Garde art center/ New London, with the New London Orchestra and the EEkklesia Contemporary Ballet
