The Leather is a being that is part of the mythological fauna of the first settlers of Patagonia (extreme south of Argentina). It was a being that was very fearful since it was extremely voracious and hunted by posing as a cow leather that floated on the water (hence its name), attracting curious to its death. It is described as a creature that has a huge mouth that attacks suddenly, with great violence and can even attack on the shore. This monstrous being habit the rivers, lakes and seas of Patagonia.

According to legend, Yafu was born from a tear of the Sun God, who, seeing that his Nightmare Hunters (beings dedicated to hunting the demonic children of the Great Queen or nightmares) were losing the war against nightmares, decided to send his son into combat. Yafu after much fighting met Llapi, the eldest daughter of the Great Queen who had rebelled against her Mother and brothers. Yafu fell madly in love with Llapi, but both she and Yafu were ambushed by Llapi's most powerful brothers, sacrificing herself to save a very badly wounded Yafu (he lost his right eye, arm and legs). Yamn was the cause of Yafu's wounds and at the same time that he wounded him, he also contaminated his blood with demonic blood, causing an infection of a magical nature; so to save Yafu, the alchemist Hornero had to invoke Chaos himself, grandfather of nightmares, to feed Yafu with energy that could counteract the demonic infection. Hi there! My name is Gustavo Linares and I'm a concept artist and illustrator from Argentina with almost four years of experience.
Here I leave my career history:
-since december of 2021 until June 2025- working as freelance character artist and enviroment Concept artist in Mad cloud comics.-
-since april 2023 until january 2024- working as freelance generalist Concept artist .-
-since january 2024 until september 2024- working as freelance generalist Concept artist and Illustrator in Southcodex games.-
-since september 2024 until today- working as VFX concept artist and Illustrator in Obitus games, in the game Overknights, released in 2025 (you can see it in Steam).-
I'm a team player, able to take feedback and apply it to my daily work, and I understand the general workflow. I have knowledge of the 3D process, so I understand very well what the artists in that department require. I speak and write English professionally and as a bonus, I'm a huge fan of videogames, so in addition to knowledge, I'd bring passion to the project!
