I am a cultural researcher, visual storyteller, and cultural designer working at the intersection of heritage, ethnography, and emerging technologies. My practice focuses on documenting intangible cultural memory and transforming it into contemporary, interactive formats through photography, film, sound, and digital systems. I am the founder of Doran Cultures, a cultural research collective established five years ago to document and preserve disappearing local cultures in Iran. Through extensive fieldwork, the project has produced a large-scale archive of photography, documentary films, sound recordings, rituals, and oral histories, contributing to the development of future-oriented digital heritage platforms. My work has focused primarily on the regions of Talesh in northern Iran and Qeshm Island in the south, where I explored the relationship between geography, memory, and cultural identity. Research in the Persian Gulf region led to cross-cultural studies connecting Iranian and Omani heritage, particularly in architecture, maritime culture, music, and ritual practices. Recently, I developed The Moving Fortress of Nizwa, an intensive ethnographic documentation project at Nizwa Fort in Oman, combining photography, sound, archival research, and AI-assisted storytelling. The project forms the basis for a photo book and a proposed interactive exhibition designed to transform museums into participatory cultural spaces. Alongside my artistic practice, I have over ten years of experience in designing educational and media programs for refugee and vulnerable communities in collaboration with UNICEF and UNHCR. I also have extensive experience in filmmaking, visual production, and cultural content development. I am interested in roles related to cultural research, visual content creation, digital heritage, museums, exhibitions, and interdisciplinary cultural projects.
