Anthony Hayes

Hi, I’m Anthony Hayes. I’m a filmmaker and actor who wears multiple hats—producing, directing, writing, and performing across feature films, television, and documentary. My thriller Gold (2022) starring Zac Efron showcased this mix of talents, earning Camerimage 2022 nominations for Best Director along with multiple honors and industry recognition. The project sold to all territories worldwide and is currently streaming on platforms like Hulu, Stan, and Amazon Prime.

Today I’m directing The Toy Smuggler of Aleppo, a feature documentary about Rami Adham, a Syrian refugee who secretly smuggled toys into war-torn Aleppo. I’ve also worked as a writer on RUN for Warner Bros. TV Australia and Foxtel/Binge, contributed to Moody Christmas, and created or directed several early shorts, including New Skin and Ten Empty. My acting credits span many acclaimed titles, and I continue to explore stories with a bold, human-centered approach.
