    paper Game Jam 2025 - Echoes of Silence
    With some of my friends I participated at the 2025 edition of the Game Jam: an event where millions of people from all over the world create groups of four or more individuals and collaborate to create a game in 48 hours. By my side were two programmers and a musician, all amateurs in their respective passions just like me. The theme of the Game Jam was "bubbles," so we decided to center our game around a former musician who had gone deaf. We envisioned the game as a sort of psychological horror: the protagonist, who lost both his hearing and his profession in an accident that happened years earlier on a cruise ship where he was performing, is now a victim of hallucinations that forced him to relive that traumatic night in a loop. All he could hear were muffled sounds and the monsters in the game were designed to shoot bubbles aimed at isolating the character even more from the outside world. During the Jam I got a glimpse into video game art, character and monster sheet creation as well as cutscenes and backgrounds. Of course, being our first Game Jam, we had only a vague idea of how to create a decent game, but it was an experience that laid the foundation for us to grow and develop our skills in the video game field. illustrator…
