My name is Aya Miiran, and I am a recent Film and Content Creation graduate based in Manchester. I specialised in directing and editing working across film, short-form digital content, and social media-led storytelling, with a strong focus on pre-production planning and creative development. During my final year, I pitched an original media concept and secured funding to develop it. OutSpoken is a digital lifestyle magazine that allowed me to expand my directing practice from film into social media and digital marketing. The project gave me the chance to develop creative and technical skills simultaneously: from pre-production planning and short-form content creation, to camera work, editing, and photography. It also strengthened my understanding of branding, audience communication, trend research, and how to shape content that reflects a brand’s identity while generating original ideas. At this stage in my career, I am ready to move from self-initiated projects into a more structured, industry facing environment.
