Matteo de Castello is a consultant and executive with over a decade of experience in business affairs, co-production strategy, and content deal structuring across Spain, the UK, and Italy. He advises investors,
producers, and production companies on the legal and commercial viability of film and television projects — with a focus on co-production financing, contract review, deal terms, and rights management.
He began his career at Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Films in London, where he supported the business and commercial affairs department on scripted series such as Taboo (BBC/FX, starring Tom Hardy) and the feature Get Santa. He later joined Palma Pictures, overseeing business development and international co-production strategy, before becoming Head of International Co-Productions at Nostromo Pictures, where he led business affairs on globally distributed titles such as Wasp Network (Netflix), Love Gets a Room, and The Minions of
Midas.
As Head of Business & Commercial Affairs at Publispei (Rome), Matteo was responsible for supervising legal negotiations, editorial alignment, and commissioning agreements on series such as Flowers Over the Inferno and Eppure Cadiamo Felici.
Now based in Barcelona, Matteo works independently as a consultant for international co-productions, advising international producers and investors on international structuing, deal evaluation, incentive strategy, and rights frameworks. His recent projects include collaboration with Nostromo Pictures at studio series and features with budgets up to €100M, including The Night Manager 2 and The Map That Leads to You, and with independent production companies.
He holds a Juris Doctor in Law (Verona University), an MA in Film & TV Production (Bournemouth University).
He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian.
