3D Animator & Storyboard Artist at Demolition Derby 1939 — Graduate Film
January 1, 2022 - January 1, 2025
Conceived and directed a full-pipeline 3D animated music video retelling WWII as a destruction derby, from initial story concept through to final rendered output. Developed 30+ storyboard frames, animatics, shot lists, and camera breakdowns across a 40-shot sequence organized by chapter. Designed 7 original characters combining cultural iconography with WWII military history; created all concept art, silhouette explorations, and colour palettes. Executed complete 3D pipeline in Maya and ZBrush: modelling, retopology, UV unwrapping, rigging, MASH-based mechanical rigging, and character animation. Hand-painted PS1-style textures entirely in Photoshop — gradient maps, alpha masks, colour overlays — with zero procedural materials. Secured official music licensing from Sabaton for use in the final film.

    Demolition Derby 1939" is a 3D animated music video reimagining the Second World War as a vehicular demolition derby set in a drive-in cinema car park. Seven nations — each represented by a unique stereotype-based vehicle — battle for parking spaces in a simplified retelling of WWII’s key events, from the invasion of Poland to the Cold War standoff.
