Bassem Aounallah

I’m Bassem Aounallah, a Tunisian freelance Documentary Director of Photography and Cameraman with nearly 20 years of experience crafting observational, human-interest documentaries and international broadcast field productions. I focus on character-led storytelling—supporting impactful interviews and natural on-location sequences with the right cinematic framing, lighting, and reliable camera work.

Based in Tunis, I’ve shot across North and West Africa, including Tunisia, Libya, Mauritania, and Côte d’Ivoire, and I collaborate with international teams on multilingual, cross-cultural projects. I handle self-sufficient location shooting with professional camera, lens, lighting, and sound setups, and I’m available for documentary assignments with broadcasters, institutions, and production companies.
