I'm Ben, and I recently graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a First Class Bachelor of Arts With Honours in Film Studies and Creative Writing. My time at university has given me a plethora of experience in both filmmaking and writing, as I have produced first class quality scripts, films and audio projects in the last 3 years. I have also gained extensive knowledge of software such as FadeIn, PremierPro and Adobe Audition. I also won the Lynda La Plante Fund Prize Award for scriptwriting at LJMU, which was awarded not only for the quality of my scripts (which I often set in Liverpool or Ireland, two places very close to my heart) but for my work ethic and professionalism during workshop sessions and in writer rooms. In all of my modules, I spent hours (weekly) reading and editing my peers' scripts, short stories and novels, and my feedback was often highlighted by my peers as being incredibly helpful. Writing wise, I specialise in psychological horrors and dramas, but with plenty of focus on Irish and Scouse settings and culture. One of my scripts, Land Ho, received the top mark in my year, and I am currently working on turning it into a full-length feature. I have also had an extensive career in the live sport industry, working as a technician and graphics operator for Everton FC. Working in these roles has given me excellent experience of working in fast-paced live studios, using a variety of software applications including vMix, Google Sheets, WeTransfer and Shoflo.
