Trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Bert has appeared in or directed more than 250 theatrical productions as well as producing the long running comedy hit "Late Night Catechism" in New Orleans and "The Wisdom of Eve" in New York. As a screenwriter, Bert has won laurels in many competitions in the U.S., Europe, and the U.K., including wins for "Some Desperate Glory" at the 2026 Cannes Script Festival and the 2025 New York Script Awards and for "The Assassin's Shadow" at the 2025 London Vision Film Festival. In addition to his theatrical work, Bert received his M.F.A. in Producing from the American Fim Institute Conservatory in 2008 and is the Executive Producer of the Lionsgate feature "Sea of Fear." His screenplay "Northern Lights" is currently in pre-production. Bert is married and is the humble servant to four cats and a dog.
