    uniE603 Who Killed Amy Mihaljevic?
My first podcast was a deep dive into the unsolved murder and kidnapping of Amy Mihaljevic. I sat down with all the major players: her father, the Chief of Bay Village PD, Special Agent Phil Torsney, and many others, over 18+ episodes. On October 27, 1989, northeast Ohio was just like any other day until reports of a missing girl from Bay Village began making headlines around 10 o’clock that morning. The first night for the Mihaljevic family must have been horrific. The fact that Amy had not contacted her family and there was no sign of her anywhere confirmed that this was no ordinary missing person case. The city and its citizens felt as though they had been punched in the gut. How could one of their own be taken so close to home, right across from the police station, no less? As the days went by, new information was released regularly, the most significant being related to a phone caller who may have lured Amy to the plaza that Friday afternoon. This information came from two of Amy’s friends, who had been told about the plan on the day of the meeting. In speaking with Chief Spaetzel, these friends were able to provide crucial details, one of the most important being that Amy had been told she had $45 to spend, and if she had any money left over, she could also get a gift. unsolved truecrime podcast deepdive AmyMihaljevic host researcher
