Project Description:
The Goal:
To develop a dedicated academic contribution to the English Department at Djillali Liabes University (Sidi Bel Abbes, Algeria). The goal was to create a centralized digital lexicon that organizes and defines complex terminology across all university levels (L1 to M2).
The Academic Challenge:
Students often struggle with specialized jargon in modules like Linguistics, Literature, and Civilization. Standard dictionaries lack the exact academic context taught within the Algerian university curriculum, making it difficult for students, especially freshmen, to prepare for exams.
The Solution:
I’m developing a structured, user friendly digital encyclopedia tailored to the department’s needs:
- Curriculum Mapping: Terms are organized by academic year and module, allowing students to study vocabulary in context.
- Optimized Content: Each term includes an academic definition, relevant examples, and a supportive Arabic translation.
- Sustainability: Included a feature for students and professors to suggest new terms, ensuring continuous growth.
