Here’s a picture of a future short story I based on a school project I called Shadow’s Ascent
The story is about a girl Aurora, defeated and lying at the bottom of a well. There is no context. There is a bonfire in front of her and behind it you can see the girl’s shadow. The flame of the campfire transforms into a walking light. Go through the girl and start climbing until you get out of the well. This motivates the girl to get out of the well but she does not come out alone. The shadow also followed her out. Outside is a grayscale world, full of exaggerated shadows and quaint, surreal facades. Physics doesn’t make sense.
The light appears again in front of the girl and begins to guide her, changing her directions in expressionist and colorful paintings.
