FANDA, AN AFRICAN SPANISH STORY is a multidisciplinary piece that unites live original music, text, dance and audiovisuals. It is a conceptual work that takes the audience on a journey starting in Africa, exploring the African origins of the western music, and highlighting the significant contribution of African music to Europe (Chacones, Sarabandas, Fandangos, Tangos, etc.). This historical journey traces the routes of slavery, passes through imperial Seville, and concludes in America.
It was premiered in WOMAD FESTIVAL in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2023.
