Graphic Designer at Future plc

January 1, 2023 - Present

A core member of the Homes Art team, designing visual elements for eight renowned brands, including Living Etc, Ideal Home and Homes & Gardens. Based in Cardiff, I collaborate seamlessly across departments in London to ensure print, web and graphic design deadlines are met. Implemented an Adobe InDesign shortcut for internal and external clients, significantly reducing production time from a full day’s work to 15 minutes. As well as daily tasks, I was responsible for producing supplement magazines across numerous magazine titles, improving the overall workflow whilst strategically prioritising tasks under pressure. Tasked with curating cohesive colour palettes and colourways to enhance visual hierarchy, brand consistency, and overall layout impact.

Constructed a set for T3 magazine’s Christmas cover in a photo studio in Bath, working as a team and following a detailed brief for all outputs whilst also collaborating with the photo studio staff and photographer. Managed demanding workloads and deadlines across Future’s portfolio, adapting seamlessly to the fast pace of weekly publications. Developed powerful concepts for new launches and branding, driving fresh, impactful visual identities.

Freelance Animator, Graphic Designer & Video Editor

Clients include: BBC Sounds, Welsh Government, Arts Council of Wales, Wales Arts International, Book Council of Wales, National Eisteddfod of Wales, Golwg Magazine. Led successful storyboarding sessions with clients, including animations created for Golwg, Wales’ premier weekly news and current affairs magazine, one of which was selected for a TV advert. Directed and produced a collage cut-out stop-motion music video for the Welsh band, Omaloma. Designed an identity for Dewr, a Welsh mental health podcast. Following its success, I was tasked with the brand refresh for its second series on BBC Sounds. This included a stop-motion advertorial using collage cut-outs.

Managed a diverse client portfolio in a bustling agency, ensuring detailed quality control for creative deliverables. Clients include the Football Association of Wales, Commonwealth Games and Wales Arts International. Worked closely with Gorilla, a post-production company writing press releases and updating their website and promotional outputs. Designed print and digital toolkits, and produced visually compelling presentations using InDesign and PowerPoint.
