Starting out in audio post production and sound design for tv and commercials at Coolfire Studios in Saint Louis, CJ eventually discovered the passion for producing music from scoring and composing for TV. Starting out with ghost productions for EDM DJs and producing club music, the pull of 4 on the floor landed him in the realm of house music. Influenced early on from Soulection radio’s showcase of worldwide producer and beat making culture in 2012, and following with the prevalent “Trapsoul” sound from the midwest, CJ naturally gravitated towards the heavy drums and warm, soulful melodic sounds of alternative RnB, house, and trap music into his own take on rap and rnb music, leading to cofounding 4MLA Records our of Oʻahu, Hawaii. Playing local night clubs in Florida, Minneapolis, Portland, and San Francisco, to DJing premier wedding evetns, the appreciation for the dancefloor and magical ability that music has to bring people together remains deeply rooted in his music taste and productions. After receiving recognition for "Staying" at the SF Music Expo in 2019, CJ continues to experiment with modern Pop/RnB and Rap, and has been featured multiple times on SLAPP Radio. 2020 and the covid pandemic brought about the opportunity to adapt to remote collaboration, resulting in the launch of SLAPP Radio, shows on KTUH Honolulu, the 4MLA Studios record label.
