I've been a graphic designer since 2000. A painter, a cook and a dreamer since always. Twenty-five years later, I understand that these were never separate things — they were all the same impulse, finding different forms. It began in Lisbon, with a degree in Marketing and Advertising at IADE. But something in me already knew that the surface wasn't enough — so I flew to Florence, to the Palazzo Spinelli, and spent two yearw learning that design, at its deepest, is a form of translation: taking what lives inside and making it visible in the world. I came back with a degree in Graphic and Editorial Design, and spent the next two decades building — studios, partnerships, creative directorships, a magazine, a food brand, a freelance practice that has outlasted everything else. Twenty-five years of making things for people who needed their ideas to have a face. Along the way, I discovered something that no design school teaches: the most important work happens before the first sketch. It happens in the listening. Cascais is my forever place — the ocean, the light, the salt in the air. Coimbra is my present home, where I am learning new ways of bringing the world towards me. And somewhere ahead, there is a new geography waiting — a place that will feel like remembering, not arriving. I am a mother of three — Carlota, Vasco and Joaquim — and a devoted caretaker of the moon, the stars, every plant I can grow, and every herb I can add to my cauldron.
