Zuresh Natarajan is a filmmaker, screenwriter, and assistant director originally from Kerala, India. He immigrated to Canada in 1987. He completed a one-year television production training program at Maclean Hunter Television in Toronto and studied film at Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University). He worked as an assistant director on two major feature films in India and on an English-language film with Merchant Ivory Productions in New York. His first short film, Petals, was officially selected at more than 40 international film festivals around the world. In 2001, the National Screen Institute (NSI) in Winnipeg selected him as one of Canada's emerging young directors. Zuresh has also worked as an assistant director and production coordinator on numerous Indian feature films.
