I am a freelance sound editor and sound designer with extensive experience in radio sound engineering. I work in Pro Tools and use Waves Diamond V15 effects package with a full suite of noise reduction plug-ins, and I also use Clarity for editing.
I have excellent speech editing skills and worked for the BBC for many years on radio drama, music and current affairs programmes, in studio and on location. I enjoyed the huge variety of people I met and worked with from celebrities to members of the public.
I value clear communication, collaboration and I am happy delivering broadcast-ready audio to tight deadlines.
Recent projects include serving as Sound Editor on the podcast series Would Like to Meet for Documental Productions (Sept 2021–Jun 2022). After taking time out to care for a relative, I am now working with the presenter on developing a new podcast series.
My career spans work on network radio programmes such as Woman’s Hour, File on Four and You and Yours for Radio 4, as well as mixing for Radio 3 and Radio 4.
I have designed sound for radio drama and documentaries. I worked on The Archers and Silver Street (an urban radio soap). It was great to find my input on plot, character and continuity was valued as much as my technical work.
