Hi, I'm Chris Tait. I run Black Hole Studios in Cape Town as a music producer and mix engineer. My work focuses on musicians, bands, and ad agencies, delivering mixing, mastering, sound design, and music production. I'm a musician myself with a long career in the SA music scene, and I’ve owned and run award-winning studios for over two decades. I primarily use Pro Tools but have experience across most DAWs to bring clients' sounds to life. Before that, I was Studio Manager at Street Level Studios, handling day-to-day operations, session coordination, licensing, and client relationships. I also created in-house library music for radio and TV ads, film scores, and documentaries, and I mastered end products and final masters. My background includes a foundational apprenticeship in Photolithography and a creative stint as a sound designer, which informs my meticulous approach to audio and design. I've collaborated with SA artists such as Beatenberg, Just Jinger, Freshlyground, James Stewart, and The Parlotones, among others.
