I was born in Patras, Greece, in 1971 and began music lessons, focusing on guitar in 1986 under Dionisis Sabaziotis. I quickly found a calling in composition and, in 1993, presented early works with my teacher in a concert organized by Nikos Touliatos. I earned a diploma in classical guitar with Dionisis Sabaziotis, Rouli Kolokytha, and Dimitris Dimakopoulos, and I completed courses in advanced music theory. I also began teaching classical and later electric guitar, and I wrote music for dance, collaborating with Tatiana Loverdou’s dance companies in Patras and Athens festivals. My love of jazz grew early and I formed and performed in trio- and quartet-adjacent groups across Greece, collaborating with musicians like Eivind Aarset, David Lynch, Nikos Touliatos, Natassa Mare Moumtzidou, Vasilis Podaras, George Daravellis, and Vasilis Stefanopoulos. I helped create the Orange Trio (violin-cello-guitar) and the EN ROUTES duo (sax-guitar) with George Daravellis. I have performed at several festivals including Patras, Ladonas, Elefsina, Aishylia, and Soundtrope. My first album Swinging over the Surfaces appeared in 2003, followed by Wish You Could Stay in 2014 with contributions from Lynch, Daravelis, and Stefanopoulos. In 2016 I toured Greece with a free-improvisation duo with drummer Nikos ToulIatos, featuring Natassa Mare Moumtzidou on vocals and Giannis Panagiotopoulos on lyra, and that year we also staged live performances of Wish You Could Stay… with Lynch, Stefanopoulos, and Podaras. In 2017 I collaborated with dancer Yannis Adoniou on a duo project blending guitar electronics, FX, computer music, and dance, and in 2018 I began recording the album DEJA VU with Lynch, Stefanopoulos, and Podaras for an autumn 2018 release. I also write music for films, documentaries, and video art.
