I’m Nicola Bray, a media arts graduate and video editor with a strong passion for storytelling through film, journalism-style news editing, and creative content. I’ve taught myself industry-standard editing tools and built skills across timeline editing, colour grading, sound/video effects, scripting, and on-camera interview support.
I’ve worked with teams in fast-paced environments—editing for ABC/AB C News, contributing to documentary and web content, and collaborating on film projects and competitions. I also bring a focus on accessibility and communication, supported by my creative industry work with the Australian Government’s Youth Advisory Group.

Edited news content as part of a journalism and news editing fellowship/job. Worked successfully under time pressure, coordinated with journalists and producers, communicated with different ABC stations across multiple states, and supported the news editing workflow to meet broadcast/content deadlines.
In 2025, I was awarded a fellowship to learn journalism and news editing, followed by a casual role editing for the news. This position helped refine my ability to work under tight deadlines, coordinate with journalists and producers, and communicate effectively with multiple ABC stations across states.
Worked with the Office for Youth in the Australian Government in the Creative Industries sector. Attended meetings via Microsoft Teams and travelled to Canberra for in-person sessions. Contributed to outcomes including a letter submitted to the Albanese Government describing experiences in education and recommending enhancements to arts education for primary and secondary students across Australia.
