I am Cyri Pyetrovna Thompson, an Alaska Native (Unangax) non-binary artist from Unalaska/Dutch Harbor, Alaska. I am the child of parents native to Alaska and New Zealand. I currently reside in Unalaska/Dutch Harbor and work full-time as a library assistant at the Unalaska Public Library, and I am a mother of two. My social media handles for my artwork can be found on IG, TikTok, and Facebook under the name Kinesis & Calamity. My love of illustration began when I first watched Sailor Moon at age 9. I was a member of the UCSD Art Club throughout high school, and I have traveled to NYC, England, and France, visiting museums, architectural and historical sites, Broadway shows, etc. In the past few years, I have built a following on social media with my art, with over 5k followers on TikTok & Instagram combined, and my love of visual arts shows in a wide variety of mediums (though digital illustration & acrylics are my favourites). Since starting at the library, I have undertaken art projects for programming and applied my graphic design experience in creating “Book Menus” for the library’s multiple sections.
