Hello! I’m D.S. Causey, a passionate artist and educator based in Pine Prairie, Louisiana. With a background in both traditional and digital art, I’ve dedicated my career to inspiring the next generation of creative minds through teaching and mentorship.
In addition to my teaching, I am actively involved in the art community as a published author and illustrator. I’m excited to continue exploring new mediums and pushing the boundaries of my creativity while sharing knowledge with students and other artists alike.

“The hooting was louder as Nedry scrambled to his feet and staggered back against the side panel of the car, as a wave of nausea and dizziness swept over him. The dinosaur was close now, he could feel it coming close, he was dimly aware of its snorting breath. But he couldn’t see. He couldn’t see anything, and his terror was extreme.”
The “Mother of Harlots” is a concept I developed based on a character introduced in the book of Revelation 17:3-6, which says:
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
Though somewhat provocative, the overall image remains both true to the narrative while also being tasteful enough to avoid any potential issues with decency. Many minute details were added that could easily be overlooked, including a reference to her sitting upon the dragon. As such, “The Mother’s” throne is here built upon the back of the dragon out of its own flesh.
Free-hand pencil and pen & ink work I’ve done.
Having always been a fan of prehistory, and a newly converted Christian, I was captivated by the work of Bill Cooper in his book “After the Flood.” In it, he detailed how the oldest recorded piece of literature, “Beowulf,” which tells of a lasting struggle between the titular character and the Grendel beast, was likely a record of an actual event, and that the beast was in fact a remnant dinosaur! That concept was the basis for this work, and it was in fact the first piece of digital art I ever produced.
A selection of digital art pieces I did for fun or for publication.
A selection of acrylic paintings I have done over the years.
