Hi, I’m Darko Lungulov. I’m a Serbian-born filmmaker who moved to New York City to pursue storytelling. I earned a BFA in Film and Video at the City College of New York (CCNY), and I later completed a Master’s degree in Dramaturgy at the University of Belgrade, where I am currently a PhD candidate. My work spans documentary and narrative features, with projects spanning the USA, Serbia, Croatia, Germany, and beyond. My films have toured festivals worldwide. ESCAPE won the Audience Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival and screened at IDFA in 2004. HERE AND THERE, my debut feature, won Tribeca’s Best NY Narrative Award in 2009 and has been shown in festivals around the world, streaming on Netflix and now available on Amazon Prime and other platforms. MONUMENT TO MICHAEL JACKSON premiered at Karlovy Vary in 2014 and earned critical and festival acclaim; I’ve also contributed as a writer and directing consultant on A GOOD WIFE (Sundance 2016) and directed THE SUSPECTS for Serbian television.
