National Mailboxes: SEO and Conversion Strategy for a B2B E-Commerce Rebuild

National Mailboxes is a commercial mailbox retailer running on WooCommerce. I’m the strategy lead on the account, sitting between the owner and the agency team that handles SEO, paid search, and development. My job is to set direction, read the performance data, and make sure the work that gets planned actually gets built.

What makes this site different is that most orders start as a quote request, not a standard online checkout. So I built the whole success measurement around completed quote submissions rather than the return-on-ad-spend numbers agencies usually default to. That one change reshaped how we bid on paid search and which content we prioritized.

Some of what I’ve worked on:

    • Found keyword cannibalization across an oversized category structure and mapped a fix for the live site instead of parking it until the rebuild
    • Rebuilt paid search around quote-driven conversions, including value-based bidding tied to real order value and close rate
    • Worked through a rough 2026 Google core update and the organic traffic hit from AI Overviews, with a plan to earn visibility inside AI-powered search results
    • Reviewed development estimates and found leaner, plugin-based ways to build new store features like door-count filters, color swatches, and image selectors
    • Tracked down a server load spike caused by bot traffic slipping past the cache, then got the right blocks and caching rules in place
    • Tightened product content and category pages, including how ratings and reference pricing display, to remove signals that were quietly hurting conversions
