700 Hours of footage, we take you around the world underwater.
Come explore some of the most exotic places on the planet that few will ever see in their lifetime.
This is a Documentary film about a young person named Timmy, who has CdLS (Cornelia de Lange syndrome) who wanted to Scuba Dive. This is one of those projects that I actually had a great time filming, and enjoyed meeting a lot of really great people. I took nothing serious about this film until I actually met Timmy. He fascinated me. He had a certain honesty that was pure and uncontrived. More than that, he had the desire to want to show other’s who were challenged with disabilities, the other side of the rainbow. He made us all believers. The question was; Who in their right mind would let a person with cognitive disabilities dive 70 feet beneath the ocean? Not to mention the liability, if things took a wrong turn… Timmy persisted and guided the rest to follow on a journey of letting go. Strangely enough, we all found baggage of our own that shifted the focus to ourselves.
“I would have said no!”
If someone asked, if I would Produce & Direct this documentary film, I would have said no. My interest was in feature film work. Little did I know that a film like this, changed my life and everyone involved. This film is about letting go… And allowing people of all variations to come to a place where we are all equal. Little did I know or understood what that meant until I met Timmy. Simply in his words, “Underwater, I feel equal.” For those of us who are “Normal” and don’t have a clue, were challenged to open their eyes, and see outside of the box, found meaning and purpose in his words. I feared the ocean before this film, but I had to overcome my own fears led by disabled individuals. Somehow the dark cloud of my normalcy was challenged by a person who couldn’t speak coherently. His dream was to become a scuba diver; and through it all, he found the answers to his own truth that led him to accomplish what others deemed impossible. And for those like me who found something more like the ever changing line of my own reality of what is normal, Can look back and acknowledge that impossible things do happen and miracles are possible.
An elderly Homeless man who has been living on the streets for a long time, comes to the fork in the road. He battles with neurocognitive disorders, and the daily struggles of finding food and a place to rest; the grim realization that this is an arduous task for someone his age. He has an imaginary twin brother, who continually scolds him for the life he has chosen. His journey starts when he is given a choice of saving himself, or doing a selfless act. We learn that there are many layers to this character, and we immediately stereotyped him before taking a real look…
