Within Apple's Technology Development Group, created synthetic data for developing and testing augmented and virtual reality, using LIDAR to produce reference 3D environment models from real-world data for use in improving AR/VR computer vision frameworks in visionOS through machine learning. Collected, cataloged, registered, QAed, and ingested LIDAR data from some 3,000 large-scale interior and 
exterior 3D scans for use in improving AR/VR frameworks in visionOS, with extremely positive consumer 
feedback leading to increased demand which was consistently met. Developed expert-level understanding of FARO-brand LIDAR scanners and processing software, providing consultation and assistance to developers fine-tuning our data collection and processing pipeline. Maintained records and comprehensive knowledge of data sets and metadata, including status, specific issues, and 
required remedies. On my own initiative, recovered weeks of work by dozens of people that would otherwise have been lost. Worked with developers to create a custom Digital Asset Management system for accessing our database both through a browser-based GUI and Python, as well as data-annotation tools, with specific focus on increasing usability and efficiency while fixing bugs and addressing data-processing edge-cases, guiding assets through their lifecycle. Followed processes and procedures for eliminating personally identifying information from data sets. Documented processes and procedures in detail, allowing for easy user training and expansion of our team.
