DeRock is a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Long Beach, CA who was born into a musical family. By age 11 electric & double bass became his first loves, leading him to pursue classical & jazz studies. He arrived at USC on presidential scholarship where he honed his bass & vocal chops. While at uni DeRock's love for pop music kept extending further to other genres like folk, reggae, and EDM. He applied himself to acoustic guitar & piano, often spending late nights locked in practice rooms on campus. By age 25, he was already recording demos for stars like Lauryn Hill. He went on tour with Malaysian sensation Yuna and spent 2 years on cruise ships playing country, rock, Motown, R&B, 80s, 90s, 00s, & beyond... playing well over 300 songs 6 nights a week.
