This video explains Donald Waugh’s approach to audio production for the short film Unearthing Roots, focusing on how he organized the stems in Nuendo and delivered multiple formats. He handled all audio himself, while the talent returned to do ADR, and he set up dialogue, background noise, Foley, effects, and a separate music stem for easier management. The project used about 68 tracks, and his Nuendo template let him bounce different deliverables in one session, including TV at -24 LUFS and web at -16 LUFS. He then shares that for new clients he asks many questions, since he cannot rely on in-person cues over the internet, and he emphasizes meeting loudness, sample rate, and file specs.
