Since the beginning of my journey in audio, sound has been my language and creative tool. I’m José Eduardo García Hernández, an audio engineer and music producer with a deep passion for film scoring and sound design for cinema, television, and digital media.
Throughout my career, I have refined the art of integrating audio with visuals, working in composition, mixing, and mastering to ensure productions with distinct sonic identities and technical precision. Synchronization through SMPTE timecode, loudness standards across different broadcast formats, and adaptation of sound for diverse media are essential elements of my work.
I strive to collaborate with directors and producers who seek immersive musical scores that enhance emotion and elevate the impact of their projects. Sound is not just an accompaniment to visuals—it transforms the story, shaping an audiovisual experience that resonates deeply.
My process blends artistic sensitivity with technical expertise, using tools like Ableton Live, Pro Tools, and Reaper to craft expressive and dynamic mixes. Every project I engage in is an opportunity to explore new ways of storytelling through sound.
Always open to new opportunities, I look forward to creating sonic landscapes that bring images to life and amplify their narrative power.

505 Records is a production house founded in partnership between myself and my associate, Erick Garay of EMG Sound. It began as a home studio project, originally intended to be a space where my friends and I could create music together. Before long, my path in music production took a professional turn, and as I progressed in my career, this studio naturally evolved into a hub for independent artists—a place for collaboration and creation. It also became my personal workspace for audio projects, including tracking, mixing, pre-mastering, composition, and arrangement.
In 2024, as Erick and I neared the end of our studies, we decided to officially establish 505 Records, naming it after the house number where the project first started. Since then, the studio has welcomed local independent artists, offering services ranging from podcasting to full-scale music production from start to finish.
505 Records is equipped with a professional backline, giving our clients access to a diverse array of gear and software. Combined with our expertise, we ensure that every project meets the highest quality standards, ready for distribution across major streaming platforms with a clear and competitive sound.
I worked as a recording engineer for five episodes of La Hora Nacional, ensuring precise and high-quality audio capture for the program. During the sessions, I handled microphone placement and configuration, adjusted levels, and monitored the signal to achieve clear and interference-free recordings.
Each session required careful attention to detail, optimizing technical conditions so the recorded material was ready for further editing and mixing. My contribution helped maintain the production’s high-quality standards for its broadcast.

In these episodes, my role as an audio engineer focused on recording, editing, and mixing, ensuring the sound quality met professional production standards. Throughout the process, I encountered a significant technical challenge: the presence of electrical noise in the laboratory studio, which affected the clarity of the voices.
To resolve this issue, I applied noise reduction and audio restoration techniques, successfully recovering the sharpness of the dialogue while preserving a natural sound. Additionally, I adjusted equalization and dynamics to enhance intelligibility and create a balanced mix between speech and other sound elements in the program.
Finally, I optimized the mix for digital platform publication, ensuring consistent and high-quality playback. These episodes presented an interesting technical challenge, where restoration and refinement techniques were crucial to achieving a clean and professional result.

For this project, I was tasked with creating 13 minutes of music to accompany the presentation of projects in the laboratory. The composition needed to blend seamlessly with the dialogue in the video, ensuring that the sound enhanced the message without overpowering it.
The process involved crafting a musical progression that complemented different moments, maintaining thematic coherence while adjusting dynamics to fit each section appropriately. I also worked on the mixing, balancing music and speech to ensure clear and immersive playback.
This project was both a technical and creative challenge, as I had to find the perfect balance where music supported the narrative without interfering with the understanding of the content.
