    This piece is based off of the assassin character, Villanelle, from the thrilling drama series, “Killing Eve”. Villanelle is a complex character who kills with no remorse but later falls deeply in love. I wanted to capture the ever shifting moods that Villanelle has throughout the series, and how her character progresses as her layers are peeled back to reveal a more human side. The variety of timbres made through the flute, saxophone, percussion, piano, violin, and cello, are meant to represent her eccentric personality.
