EMMANUEL A. LERONA

I’m a documentary filmmaker, video editor, writer, and researcher specializing in long-form interviews, research-driven storytelling, archival material, and social-impact narratives.

My approach to editing comes from both filmmaking and historical research. I don’t simply look for clean sound bites: I listen closely for the strongest ideas, emotional turns, and revealing moments within an interview, then consider how those pieces can build a larger narrative.

I have worked on documentary and cultural projects involving history, Indigenous communities, public affairs, oral testimony, and archival research. My work includes Pátok: The Mountain Carvers, Beyond the Horizon: The Continuing Quest for Justice in the West Philippine Sea, both of which are available/accessible on YouTube, and Sa Taguangkan sang Duta.

I’m particularly interested in collaborating with documentary filmmakers, researchers, universities, NGOs, cultural institutions, and organizations working on meaningful long-form and research-based stories.
