Over the years I have worked formally in a variety of fields (tourism, fraud prevention, an online C2C resale marketplace, to name a few.) These roles have equipped me with some useful skills to be sure, but I would argue that my personal projects have resulted in as much or more demonstrable skill gains. A multi-year tech startup project gave me a taste of product design and market strategy. A video game I prototyped and some pen and paper sessions with friends left me with experience in story, character, and level design. Over the last year I have passionately cultivated musical composition skills, with over 23 finished instrumental tracks and lyrics for 6 or 7 pieces completed thus far. I've studied 3 foreign languages to some degree of depth and learned a few introductory bits of an additional 2. The list goes on. I pride myself on my ability to teach myself basically anything I set my mind to, and I am able to connect the dots between the various fields in which I have experience to produce novel insights and uniquely positive results.
