I am a singer songwriter from Dublin, Ireland who plays guitar and mandola. I also speak many languages. In the 1990s I was part of the Galway based band, Far Canals. They released two albums and one EP with Hunter S. Records. The bands anarchic, anti-establishment ethos was reflected in many of their songs which railed against the police, drug laws, organised religion and political corruption. Influenced by punk and blues, Far Canals combined unusual guitar arrangements and distortion pedals to produce a highly distinctive sound. I've played many gigs as a solo act, I was the support artist for Julian Cope on his ‘An audience with the Cope tour’ of Irish Castles in 1993. I have been a live sound engineer and have worked for a number of artists playing in the Galway area. I have also been a DJ, and have played at many parties and festivals in Spain and Portugal. I have a band called The Rocking Horse of Oisin which still play occasional gigs at festivals and venues in Portugal. I have travelled extensively, much of my youth was spent trekking around Europe, and I has lived for periods in France, Germany, Spain and Portugal and can speak those languages although my German is a but rusty these days. My first language is English but I also speak some Irish. I am currently writing and touring with my newest band, Undying Heads. We are a two piece band with myself playing guitar or mandola and singing and a female vocalist who also plays bodhran or mandola. We can play anything from a Happy Birthday message to a whole gig of covers or original music.WWW

Music & Lyrics by Frank Ryder. Performed by Undying Heads. From the album Can't Be Late, released by Undying Heads on July 23, 2019. Lyrics: The death of hope, gone to waste Lost my taste for believing Must be me, cos I can see Nothing else has changed The sky is grey, the sun is grey My skin is grey in places People pass, they are grey I don’t even see their faces Cliff walks the fragile edge Fragile eggshell hits the ledge Cracks on impact, stresses end For a while you’re in denial The price of love, is pain Pain is the price of love Deeper the one Sharper the other #music #vocal #lyrics #songwriter #musicianWW
    uniE603 The More You Know
Music & Lyrics by Frank Ryder. Performed by Undying Heads. From the album Can't Be Late, by Undying Heads, released July 23, 2019. It was hard, it was bitter and it wasn’t ripe The apple I took from the tree of life It was slippy and scaly with those wicked eyes The snake in the tree of paradise I could have waited till the apple fell But then the snake would have no tale to tell The tale got told, the hearts did harden Into an exit sign, I left the garden I hurried on down my chosen path I could not take it slow And I soon realised That the more you know The more you know you don’t know I was wearing a fig leaf to hide my nature When somebody caught my eye I tried to keep working, tried to keep my head down But I was soon pointing up at the sky I tried to keep working, tried to keep my head down Instead I said have you time for a song The song got sung, and her right there with me Soon she was singing along I hurried on down my chosen path I could not take it slow I soon realised That the more you know The more you know you don’t know I was picking some blossom under the sun That shines equally for everyone It shines down on us from the heavens above How can a flower be wrong? I was threatened with a bullet in the night To stop me dead in full flight I saw this pathetic display of might How can a gun be right? I hurried on down my chosen path I could not take it slow I soon realised That the more you know The more you know you don’t know I hurried on down my chosen path I could not take it slow I soon realised That the more you know The more you know you don’t know Well I soon realised That the more you know The more you know you do not know #music #vocal #soundtrack #folk #country #songwriter #musicianWW
