I’m Fraser Grant, a Manchester-based freelance musician and recording engineer with a 1st Class BMus in Popular Music (Bass Guitar) from RNCM. Since 2017 I’ve balanced performing with hands-on studio work, collaborating with independent artists and function bands while building a strong engineering toolkit. I’m passionate about capturing great performances, delivering solid mixes, and continually expanding my skill set through diverse projects. I’m always looking for new opportunities and collaborations, including organisations like The Untold Orchestra.
Beyond the studio, I teach and mentor as a musician and producer, sharing techniques in recording, arrangement, and performance. I enjoy meeting new people, coordinating with teams, and helping projects reach their creative potential through thoughtful production and precise technical work.

Progressed from university placement to full-time engineer. Responsibilities included front-of-house management and client liaison, setting up and engineering large band sessions; VO engineer for Marcus Rashford project; engineered and edited audiobooks; assisted with Dolby Atmos system installation; assisted on post-production sessions including ADR for The Witcher (Netflix) and Line of Duty; contributed to sessions for Mammal Hands, Go Go Penguin score, and more.
Freelance musician and recording engineer. Worked with independent artists such as Ruth Owens, Kyd Blu, Leisure Theory, and Jude The Obscure; performed for function companies including The Rock ’n’ Soulers, Nova Entertainment, Events Band UK; recorded Alexej Baglietto’s single '5AM'; recorded CoMA Manchester (Sept 2023); engineered a 4-track EP for Jude The Obscure; engineered Sylvette’s live session at Blueprint Studios; mixed and played on Brothers Wild live session at 80 Hertz Studios; recorded, mixed and mastered Oystercatcher at The Yard for live-streamed events.
